Quite often desSert is the one thing that has to be sacrificed when keeping your nutrition on track, however here at Prepped & Packed we have an awesome recipe that will allow you to indulge totally guilt free.

This doesn’t mean you can’t very your diet and eat with your family and friends however. Try this tasty desert made from a small list of whole foods, you won’t be disappointed.

2 tsps organic butter or coconut oil
5 star anise
2 small pieces cinnamon bark
2 large bramley apples, peeled and cut into chunks 2 pears, peeled and cut into chunks
3 tsps ground cinnamon
2 tsps honey
2 tsps organic coconut oil
70g oats (use gluten free if preferred) 2 tsps honey
30g ground almonds
2 tbsps chopped almonds
Serves 4 Per serving: 241 calories

Preheat oven to 160 ̊C/320 ̊F.
Place a small saucepan over a medium heat. Melt the butter / oil and add the star anise and cinnamon bark. Stir gently for 1-2 minutes, to release the fragrances. Remove saucepan from heat and leave to cool for several minutes. Remove the star anise and bark from the butter.
Place the apples and pears in a large bowl. Add the melted butter, ground cinnamon and 2 tsps honey. Stir well to combine.
Melt the coconut oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat. Add the oats and 2 tsps honey and stir well. Remove pan from heat. Stir in the ground almonds and chopped almonds.
Pour the apple mixture into a large ovenproof dish. Cover thoroughly with the crumble mixture.

Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crumble is golden.
Suggestion: Serve with a few spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt.
Store in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
